1. Have you ever met someone and they turn out to be really interesting? Maybe even mysterious? Read Exodus 3:1–6. In our text Moses meets someone really interesting and mysterious... and he realizes very powerful. It's God!

2. God has a job for Moses. What do you think it is? He will be God's messenger to Pharaoh.

3. Moses doesn't seem too excited about this job. Why do you think that would be? Perhaps Moses doesn't think very much of himself, or perhaps he's afraid to go back to Egypt.

4. How powerful is this God? So powerful that he rules over hearts, including the hearts of his enemies. He promises to use Pharaoh to let God's people go.

5. God says his name is "I AM". What do you think that means? That he just simply is. No one created him, no one is over him or more powerful than him. He just is... kinda like gravity.

6. God is revealing in the book of Exodus how great and how good he really is. How good? He delivers his people from slavery... and we know that he also delivers us from slavery to sin!
